Ever searched your iPhone Mail for "invoice" and scrolled through 200 results?
As of this week, ChatGPT can do the digging for you.
OpenAI added iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar to ChatGPT. It's on every plan, free included, on the web, the desktop app and iPhone.
Once you connect them, ChatGPT can:
Search and read your iCloud email
Manage messages and drafts, and send email
Look up your iCloud contacts
Read, schedule and update calendar events, including the ones in your iPhone's Calendar app
One limit: it only works with your Apple email address. Gmail or Outlook accounts you've added to the iPhone Mail app aren't included.
Right after this: how to connect it without handing over your Apple password, five things to ask it, and the one permission to think about first.
Now a quick word from today's sponsor.
Sip Into Your Glass Skin Era

Right. Back to it.
How to connect it
You'll need an app-specific password from Apple. It's a separate password just for ChatGPT, and you can cancel it any time.
Make sure two-factor authentication is on for your Apple Account.
In your Apple Account settings, go to Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords, and generate one. Name it "ChatGPT" so you can find it later.
In ChatGPT, open the Plugins tab and find iCloud Mail or iCloud Calendar. Install it.
Enter your iCloud email address and the app-specific password. For Calendar, use your main Apple Account email.
Start a new chat and ask away.
Mail and Calendar connect separately. Connecting one doesn't give ChatGPT the other.
And never type your real Apple password into ChatGPT, or paste any password into a chat.
(These steps follow an early setup guide, and menu names can shift a little between versions.)
Five things to ask
Prompt 1. Find one email fast:
Find the last email from [name] about [topic] and summarize what they asked me for.Prompt 2. Catch up after a day off:
Catch me up on my inbox since Friday. Only the emails that need a reply from me.Prompt 3. Find time:
What's on my calendar this week, and where do I have a free two-hour block?Prompt 4. Move a meeting:
Move my Thursday 3pm with [name] to Friday at the same time.Prompt 5. Reply without risk:
Draft a reply to [name] confirming the new time. Don't send it yet.The permission to think about first
This connection can send email and change your calendar, not just read them.
So decide your rule before you start. Mine is simple: ChatGPT drafts, I send.
Put "don't send it yet" at the end of any email request, and read every draft before it goes out.
If you use ChatGPT Dots, both iCloud plugins work there too. Same rule applies.
Changing your mind
Disconnect the plugin in ChatGPT.
Then remove the app-specific password in your Apple Account settings. Disconnecting in ChatGPT doesn't cancel the password at Apple.
Make it stick
Start with Prompt 2 on Monday morning.
If it saves you ten minutes, keep it. If not, disconnect and you've lost nothing.
Once AI can see your inbox and calendar, the real question is what it should do with them: which emails matter, which clients come first, what can wait. That's the whole idea behind The One-Person Company Playbook.
It's the complete setup for running a business where AI does the work of a full team. Inside:
A company folder with your brief, pipeline tracker and invoice log already laid out, so any AI picks up where you left off
Thirty AI roles across six departments, from sales to finance, ready to use
Six jobs that run on a clock: the morning briefing, follow-ups, invoice checks and more
The step-by-step path from picking a business model to your first paying customer
Works on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, whichever you already pay for.
The catch: it takes about eight hours over a weekend to set up. After that, it's yours. $97, one-time (down from $297).
Talk tomorrow,
Zephyr
P.S. What's the first email you'll ask it to find? Hit reply. The more oddly specific, the better.
