If you've built your business inside Claude Projects, this one's for you.

Anthropic has "started moving existing projects for some Pro and Max users to the new version."

And the new version works differently.

Right now, a project is a folder of separate chats.

In the new version, "a project is one conversation." You give it the job, and Claude "breaks the work into parallel threads that run in the cloud."

Close your laptop, and the threads keep going.

(Finally, a coworker who doesn't need you to watch.)

Anthropic is clear on one thing: "Nothing is lost or deleted in the move." Your instructions, files, full chat history and scheduled tasks all come with it.

Right after this: what changes day to day, and five minutes of prep in case yours is next.

Now a quick word from today's sponsor.

Leave Granola and get up to 12 months free of Wispr Flow Notetaker + Dictation

If you have paid time left on an individual Granola plan, we'll match it with a Wispr Flow subscription that includes Notetaker and dictation, and add bonus time, up to 12 months total. Sign in or create a Wispr account and submit proof of your plan to check eligibility.

Right. Back to it.

Who's affected

Some Pro and Max users, starting now.

If you've used a project in the last 30 days, Anthropic says it'll email you before it moves.

Projects in chat and Cowork stay on the current version for now. Team and Enterprise will follow later.

If you have it, you'll find "Projects" in the Code tab of the Claude desktop app.

What changes day to day

Every thread starts with your project's files, instructions and memory.

A new Library holds the files you add and the files Claude makes.

And Claude tells you "what's done and what's waiting on you."

So you stop running one chat at a time. You hand over a goal, and check back later.

The catch

Anthropic's own words: "running several threads at once uses it faster."

That's your plan's usage. On Pro especially, start with one or two threads at a time, not ten.

Five minutes of prep

Do this today, so you're ready if the email arrives:

  1. Copy your project instructions into a separate doc. Anthropic says nothing is lost, and a backup costs you a minute.

  2. Export your data. Settings → Privacy → Export data.

  3. Clear out old drafts and dead files. Every thread starts with the project's files, so junk travels too.

  4. Add one line to your instructions that says what "done" looks like. Claude reports back on what's done, so tell it what done means.

  5. If you've used a project in the last 30 days, watch your inbox for Anthropic's email.

Your first jobs in the new version

Once it moves, try one of these:

1. Go through the client emails and notes in this project. Draft a one-page FAQ for new clients, and a list of the questions I get asked most.

2. Read every file in this project. Write a one-page summary of my business, then list what's missing.

3. Draft next week's content: three posts and one email, in my voice, using the files here.

Number 2 is the one I'd run first. It shows you what Claude actually knows about your business before you hand it anything bigger.

Want it sooner?

If you're on Pro or Max and haven't got it yet, Anthropic has a waitlist on its help page for projects.

A project is only as good as the files and instructions inside it. That's the whole idea behind The One-Person Company Playbook.

It's the complete setup for running a business where AI does the work of a full team. Inside:

  • A company folder with your brief, pipeline tracker and invoice log already laid out, so any AI picks up where you left off

  • Thirty AI roles across six departments, from sales to finance, ready to use

  • Six jobs that run on a clock: the morning briefing, follow-ups, invoice checks and more

  • The step-by-step path from picking a business model to your first paying customer

Works on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, whichever you already pay for.

The catch: it takes about eight hours over a weekend to set up. After that, it's yours. $97, one-time (down from $297).

Talk tomorrow,
Zephyr
