A new button is turning up in apps you already use.

"Continue with ChatGPT."

It's in Canva. HubSpot. Airtable. Notion. And OpenAI says more are coming "quickly."

It looks like "Continue with Google." One tap, no new password.

The button doesn't tell you this: some apps can do more than log you in.

They can spend your ChatGPT plan.

That's mostly a good thing. But there's one setting to change, one myth to forget, and one app where it actually saves you money.

Five minutes, and you're in control of all three. Right after this: the button that looks like it stops an app, and doesn't.

Now a quick word from today's sponsor.

AI, remote work, and global hiring are reshaping HR. This report from Oyster breaks down the biggest trends shaping teams in 2026.

Right. Back to it.

One button, two very different jobs

"Sign in with ChatGPT" does two different jobs.

  1. It logs you in. That's all Canva, HubSpot and Airtable do with it today.

  2. It lets the app use your ChatGPT plan. The app's AI runs on your Plus or Pro allowance instead of its own.

OpenAI treats these as separate: signing in is one thing, using your plan is another.

Right now that second one is a limited preview. It works in Notion and a bunch of coding tools. It needs ChatGPT Plus or Pro.

Where it actually saves you money: Notion

If your team is on Notion Business and you pay for ChatGPT Plus, this is worth five minutes.

Notion's AI agent can run on your ChatGPT plan instead of burning through your Notion credits.

In Notion: Settings → Notion AI → Usage → Connect, next to ChatGPT.

The fine print, so it actually works:

  1. Use the same email address on both accounts.

  2. Pick a GPT model by name in Notion. Leave it on "Auto" and Notion bills its own credits instead. (The most expensive default in this whole email.)

  3. It only works on Business or Enterprise workspaces, and only for Notion's main agent.

On Notion's Plus plan? It doesn't work there. Sorry.

How to actually cut an app off

Logging out of the app won't do it.

Signing out only ends your session in that app. The app stays connected and can keep using your plan.

Only one thing cuts it off. Disconnecting it inside ChatGPT.

Settings → Security and login → Login connections → Sign in with ChatGPT → pick the app → Disconnect.

And usage already spent doesn't come back.

The setting to change: a cap on every app

Every bit an app uses comes out of your normal ChatGPT allowance.

A busy app can leave you short in ChatGPT itself, mid-week, mid-deadline.

So cap it. Settings → Usage → App limits → pick the app → Manage limits.

The cap is a slice of the plan you already have, not extra usage on top.

My rule: 25% per app, set the day you connect it. Your own chats come first.

One more switch while you're there. Apps can only buy extra credits on your card if you've turned automatic purchases on and set that app to 100%. Check it's off.

What the app can see

Less than you'd think.

It gets your name, email and profile picture. OpenAI says using your plan "does not give the app access to your ChatGPT conversations or memories."

Good. That's how it should be.

The five-minute check

Copy this into your notes and run it now:

Sign in with ChatGPT check (5 min)
1. Settings → Security and login → Login connections → Sign in with ChatGPT
Which apps are connected? Disconnect any you don't use.
2. Settings → Usage → App limits
Set every connected app to 25% or less.
3. Check automatic purchases are off.
4. In Notion (Business plan): pick a GPT model, not Auto.

Make it stick

New rule for every "Continue with ChatGPT" button from now on: tap it, then go straight to App limits and set the cap.

Thirty seconds at the start beats finding out on a Thursday afternoon that your ChatGPT ran dry.

Knowing exactly which tool is doing which job, and what it's costing you. That's the whole idea behind The One-Person Company Playbook.

It's the complete setup for running a business where AI does the work of a full team. Inside:

  • A company folder with your brief, pipeline tracker and invoice log already laid out, so any AI picks up where you left off

  • Thirty AI roles across six departments, from sales to finance, each with one clear job

  • Six jobs that run on a clock: the morning briefing, follow-ups, invoice checks and more

  • The step-by-step path from picking a business model to your first paying customer

Works on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok, whichever you already pay for. No extra subscription on top.

The catch: it takes about eight hours over a weekend to set up. After that, it's yours. $97, one-time (down from $297).

Talk tomorrow,
Zephyr

P.S. Open your Login connections and count the apps. Hit reply with the number. I want to know how many of you find one you forgot about.
