1. Apple's Siri Real AI Upgrade Postponed Until 2027

Apple's ambitious plan to transform Siri into a more advanced, conversational AI assistant has encountered significant delays. The comprehensive upgrade, initially slated for earlier release, is now expected no sooner than iOS 20, possibly arriving in 2027. An interim enhancement utilizing large language models (LLM) is planned for iOS 18.5; however, this will function separately from the existing Siri framework and may not operate seamlessly. Challenges contributing to the delay include developmental setbacks, equipment shortages, and internal issues within Apple's AI department, such as leadership inefficiencies and staff departures to competitors.

2. DeepSeek Claims Theoretical Profit Margins of 545%

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has revealed that its AI models, V3 and R1, could achieve a theoretical cost-profit ratio of up to 545% per day. The company reports that the daily inference cost is approximately $87,072, against a theoretical daily revenue of $562,027. These figures highlight DeepSeek's cost-effective approach to AI development, utilizing less powerful Nvidia H800 chips compared to those used by U.S. counterparts. However, the company notes that actual revenues are lower due to factors such as free web and app access and reduced developer fees during off-peak hours.

3. Google's Gemini Enhances Android Experience at MWC 2025

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Google showcased its latest AI enhancements for Android devices. Attendees experienced interactive demos, including Gemini Live's multilingual capabilities and new video and screen-sharing features. These innovations will soon be available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, demonstrating Google's commitment to integrating AI into everyday technology.

These smartphones feature AI-powered camera enhancements, improved battery life, and sleek designs, catering to a wide range of consumers seeking advanced features at competitive prices. The launch underscores Samsung's dedication to integrating AI technologies into its product lineup, enhancing user experiences across various market segments.

5. Microsoft Cancels Data Center Leases Amid AI Infrastructure Reassessment

Microsoft has recently canceled leases with at least two private data center operators in the United States, totaling several hundred megawatts, according to analysts at TD Cowen. This move suggests a potential oversupply in Microsoft's AI infrastructure capacity, prompting the company to strategically adjust its data center investments. Despite these cancellations, Microsoft maintains its commitment to investing over $80 billion in infrastructure this fiscal year to meet increasing customer demand.
