Okay, the setup.
Claude connects to your Gmail, Calendar, and Drive through Connectors.
Anthropic added these in early 2026, and they work on every plan, free included.
Here's the path:
In Claude, click the + in the chat bar (or type /).
Go to Connectors, then Manage connectors.
Find Google Workspace and click Connect.
Sign in with your Google account and grant access.
That's it. Claude can now search and read your email when you ask.
Try it right away:
Search my inbox for anything from this week that still needs a reply from me. List them, then draft a short reply for each in my usual tone.Two things worth knowing.
Claude only looks when you ask. It is not reading your mail in the background.
And it drafts, it never sends. Replies land in your Gmail drafts for you to send. You keep control.
Once Gmail is connected, add Calendar and Drive too.
Now Claude can pull a meeting off your calendar, find the file, and draft the follow-up, all in one ask.
That is when Claude stops being a chatbot and starts working inside your actual day.
